What is ClassArc?
ClassArc is live one-to-one online maths tutoring for school students, roughly ages 5 to 18. Every class is 55 minutes, one teacher to one student, with the same teacher each week. It runs inside classroom software we built ourselves — a shared worksheet both people write on, a whiteboard, and answers that sync live — rather than a video call with a shared document. The first class is free and needs no card.
Who is ClassArc for?
Parents of school-age children who want the same teacher every week rather than a rotating tutor, and who want the tutoring to follow their school's actual curriculum. It suits students who are behind and need gaps closed, students who are coping but not confident, and students who are ahead and under-stretched. It is not a fit for anyone wanting group classes at a lower price per child or a 24/7 homework helpline.
How much does it cost?
From $13.50 a class in the US, £11 in the UK, C$17.50 in Canada, A$16 in Australia and NZ$19.50 in New Zealand — each for a full 55-minute one-to-one lesson. Senior years cost more because they need more preparation. Prices are published in full on the pricing page for each market. There is no joining fee and no materials fee.
Is the first class really free?
Yes, and no card is required. It is a genuine 55-minute lesson in the real classroom with the teacher who would go on to teach your child, not a sales call. It is spent working out where your child actually is.
What subjects do you teach?
Maths is the core and what the platform was built around. We also teach Science and English for school students, but maths is what we would want to be chosen for.
What ages and year groups?
Roughly ages 5 to 18 — kindergarten to grade 12 in the US and Canada, Reception to Year 13 in the UK, Foundation to Year 12 in Australia, Years 1 to 13 in New Zealand.

Are your teachers qualified?
We do not publish individual CVs, and it is fairer to say why than to be vague about it: a listed degree has never told a parent whether their child will admit to being confused. What we offer instead is evidence you can check — a free, full 55-minute lesson with your own child before any money changes hands, reviews from families who have been with us for months, and a refund with a real cost attached. If a teacher is not right for your child, we change the teacher, not the format.
Who founded ClassArc?
Rajat Sharma, a teacher with 7+ years of classroom experience from kindergarten to grade 12. He still teaches on the platform every week.
Where are your teachers based?
India. That is the honest reason a full 55-minute one-to-one class costs well below the local rate in the US, UK, Canada, Australia or New Zealand — a good teaching salary costs less there. We pay our teachers properly; the saving is geographic, not a cut to what your child gets.
Will my child have the same teacher every week?
Yes. It is a deliberate design choice, which is why no lesson starts by re-establishing what happened last time. If the pairing is not working we arrange another free class with a different teacher.
What if my child does not connect with the teacher?
It happens and it is completely fine. We set up another free class with a different teacher and take time over the match. Fit is something you can only really judge by watching a lesson, which is why the first one is free.

Common questions

Do you use Zoom?
No. ClassArc has its own classroom. Teacher and student write into the same live worksheet at the same time, with a whiteboard alongside and answers syncing as they are typed. Your child joins in a browser with nothing to install. The usual alternative — a video call plus a screen-shared PDF — works quite differently, because the teacher only sees a finished answer rather than the method forming.
What do we need to join a class?
A browser and a working microphone. A laptop or desktop is ideal; a tablet works. There is no app, no download and no meeting link to find.
How long is each class?
A full 55 minutes, every time. Nothing is billed as an hour and taught as forty minutes.
How often should my child have classes?
Two a week suits most students. Three is worth it in the run-up to exams. One a week works for maintenance rather than catching up — and if that is too little for what you are hoping to achieve, we will say so.
Do you set homework?
Yes, matched to that day's class and to what school is covering next. Your child submits it inside ClassArc as a photo or typed answer, the teacher reviews it before the next lesson, and the next class opens by talking through it. Setting homework nobody discusses is pointless.
Can we reschedule?
Free, up to five minutes before a class starts. If a class is missed without notice we usually credit it back and rebook.

Which curricula do you teach?
US Common Core and state standards; the UK National Curriculum through KS4 and GCSE across AQA, Edexcel and OCR; Canadian provincial curricula; the Australian Curriculum v9.0 as each state sets it, including senior HSC, VCE and QCE courses; the New Zealand Years 0–10 curriculum in force since January 2026 and NCEA; plus IB, CBSE and ICSE.
Do you follow my child's school syllabus?
Yes, and it is the first thing we ask about. Before each class the teacher checks the unit your child's class has reached so the tutoring runs alongside the school rather than ahead of or behind it. A tutor teaching their own curriculum creates a second syllabus for a child already struggling with the first.
Can you help with exams — GCSE, HSC, VCE, NCEA, IB?
Yes, and the course name matters more than the year group. Tell us the exact course when you book — Mathematics Advanced, Mathematical Methods, NCEA Level 2, IB AA HL — and we will be straight with you about whether we are the right people for it.
My child has moved country. Can you help them catch up?
This is one of the situations we are most useful in. We teach five school systems, so we can work out where the sequences diverged and fill the specific gaps rather than starting the year again.

Common questions

How does payment work?
Plans are blocks of classes — 8, 24 or 48 — paid in advance, not a monthly subscription. Nothing renews automatically, so there is nothing to remember to cancel. We send a payment link once you have chosen.
Are there any other fees?
No. No joining fee, no materials fee, no platform fee. Homework, marking and the termly parent meeting are included in the per-class price.
What if we want to stop?
Stop at any point and we refund whatever class balance is left. No notice period, no cancellation fee, no questions. Refunds are processed within 7 business days.
Why is ClassArc cheaper than a local tutor?
Because our teachers live in India, where a good teaching salary costs far less than in the countries we teach into. The class is still 55 minutes, one-to-one, weekly, with the same teacher, on your child's own curriculum. Local prices are set for each market and reviewed quarterly rather than converted from dollars each week.

Common questions

Is online maths tutoring actually effective?
It can be for many students, provided the lesson is interactive rather than someone talking over video. What decides it is whether the teacher can see the work as it happens. Because the worksheet is shared, the reasoning is visible line by line instead of arriving finished — which is what lets a teacher stop at the step that broke rather than marking the answer.
How will I know it is working?
A termly parent meeting, a downloadable record of every class attended, and the homework loop, which is the most honest week-to-week signal there is. We would rather tell you something is not working than report a progress percentage.
How do I know if my child needs a tutor at all?
Common signs are avoidance rather than difficulty — homework that gets left until last, erasing answers before finishing them, or saying they are 'just bad at maths'. That last one is usually a confidence problem with a specific missing step underneath it. Book the free class and we will tell you what we find, including if we think tutoring is not what they need.
What time zones do you cover?
Class times are shown in your own timezone, and reminders arrive in it too. We cover afternoons and evenings in the UK, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Early mornings in Australia and New Zealand are the one window we cannot staff properly, so we do not offer them.
Who is ClassArc not right for?
Families who want group classes at a lower price per child, an on-demand homework helpline rather than scheduled lessons, or a marketplace where they pick a different tutor each week. We are also wrong for you if you need early-morning classes in Australia or New Zealand.
How do I get started?
Book the free first class. Tell us the country, year group and curriculum, choose a time in your own timezone, and no card is needed. We confirm by email and WhatsApp within a day.
