A maths tutor for London,
without the journey

Live one-to-one maths for London children from Year 1 to A-Level, including 11+ maths, from £11 a 55-minute class at home. We have no London office and our teachers are not in London: they teach online from India, which is also why the price is lower.

Start with a free class 55 minutes · no card required

ClassArc is live one-to-one online maths tutoring for school-age children. One teacher and one child, for 55 minutes. The same teacher every week. Classes run inside our own classroom software, not a video call: a shared worksheet you both write on, a shared whiteboard, and answers that sync live.

Online tutoring for London,
taught from India

ClassArc is not a London agency. There is no office in the city and no tutor who will come to your door; every class happens in the browser, inside our own classroom software.

Our teachers are based in India, four and a half hours ahead of London in summer and five and a half in winter. That gap puts a London after-school slot in their evening, and it is the whole reason a full one-to-one class costs well below the usual UK rate.

journeys across London. The class starts at the kitchen table, with the same teacher there every week.

Why London families
choose online maths

For plenty of London families the school run already means a bus, the Overground or a crawl through traffic. A second trip to a tutor's house is often what makes tuition fall apart by half-term.

At home, a child can get in, eat, and sit down for a 55-minute class before the evening runs out. Class times are shown in UK time, and WhatsApp reminders arrive a day and an hour before each one.

The teacher is matched to your child's year, course and exam board, not to whoever happens to live a few stops away.

Three kinds of London school, three kinds of maths.

i

Grammar schools
in outer boroughs.

Inner London has no state grammar schools, but Sutton, Bexley, Barnet, Bromley, Kingston upon Thames, Redbridge and Enfield do. The entrance tests differ from borough to borough, so check each school's admissions page.

ii

A large
independent sector.

Many London independent schools set their own 11+ maths papers or use an online pre-test. We prepare the maths for either, working from each school's published guidance.

iii

State schools,
national exams.

London's comprehensives sit the same GCSE and A-Level papers as the rest of England, set by AQA, Edexcel or OCR. We teach to whichever board your child's school uses.

Sutton's grammar test is
maths and English only

Sutton's grammar schools share one first-stage test, the Selective Eligibility Test. For September 2027 entry it was sat on 15 September 2026, as two multiple-choice papers in maths and English, with no verbal or non-verbal reasoning.

Children who pass are invited back in October for a second stage in maths and English, written in a standard format rather than multiple choice. With no reasoning papers, maths carries a bigger share of the test than in areas that include them.

We prepare the maths only, not the English, and nobody can promise a place. Our 11+ maths tutoring page explains how that preparation runs.

Six things a London parent
can check for themselves

No commute, ever

No trip across the city before or after the class, and no waiting room. Just a browser on a laptop, Chromebook or tablet.

One teacher, all year

The same person every week, so nothing is re-explained and patterns in your child's mistakes actually get noticed.

Upfront about location

Our teachers are in India and we say so plainly. That is where the saving in the price comes from.

Parents kept in the loop

WhatsApp reminders before each class, a termly parent meeting, and a downloadable record of classes attended.

Homework that comes back

Set to match the class, submitted inside ClassArc, and reviewed by the teacher before the next lesson opens.

Stop when you like

Blocks of classes, never a subscription. Unused classes are refunded, with no notice period.

Where London families go next

The pages that match the stage your child is at.

Are ClassArc's maths tutors based in London?
No. ClassArc's teachers are based in India and teach online, and there is no London office. Classes run in UK time and follow your child's London school and exam board.
Can you help with the Sutton Selective Eligibility Test?
Yes, with the maths. Sutton's first-stage test has a multiple-choice maths paper built on Key Stage 2, and the second stage includes written maths, so the teacher prepares both formats. We do not teach the English paper, and we do not promise a place.
Do you teach pupils at London independent and international schools?
Yes. Alongside the National Curriculum, GCSE and A-Level, we teach Cambridge IGCSE, Pearson Edexcel International GCSE and IB Diploma Maths, which several London independent and international schools follow. Tell us the course when you book.
What time are classes for London families?
Classes are booked and shown in UK time, mostly from late afternoon into the evening. Tell us which days suit and we will find a slot with your child's teacher.
Is maths tutoring more expensive in London?
Not with us. London families pay the same as the rest of the UK, from £11 a class in the junior band, and nothing auto-renews.
What happens if we move out of London?
Nothing changes. Classes are online, so your child keeps the same teacher wherever you live, and times can be shown in a different timezone if you move abroad.
Is the first class free?
Yes, and no card is required. It is a full 55-minute lesson at home with the teacher who would go on to teach your child, and you hear honestly what they found.
