Dubai sixth forms use three different A-Level maths qualifications: the UK's linear A-Level, Pearson Edexcel International A-Level with its unit exams, and Cambridge International 9709. ClassArc teaches all three one to one for Year 12 and Year 13 (Grade 11 and Grade 12), across Pure, Mechanics and Statistics, plus Further Maths — 55-minute classes, the same teacher every week, from AED 60 a class.
What is ClassArc?
ClassArc is live one-to-one online maths tutoring for school-age children. One teacher and one child, for 55 minutes. The same teacher every week. Classes run inside our own classroom software, not a video call: a shared worksheet you both write on, a shared whiteboard, and answers that sync live.
Three systems
The mathematics is similar across all three. How it is examined is not, and that shapes the whole of Year 12 and Year 13: when the exams happen, what can be resat, and what a sensible revision plan looks like.
UK A-Level (for example Edexcel 9MA0, AQA 7357 or OCR H240) is linear. Nothing is banked along the way; every paper is sat in the final summer. Pearson Edexcel International A-Level is modular: six unit exams that can be spread across both years and resat one at a time. Cambridge International 9709 is built from six possible papers, of which a full A Level uses four.
The options booklet or a past paper cover will tell you which one your child is on. Send us either and we will plan from it.
A student with P1 and S1 already sat by the end of Year 12 needs a different plan from one who has banked nothing until the final summer.

Which Cambridge papers a student takes, and whether a school uses the January or October IAL series, is decided by the school, so check the entry rather than assuming.
Year 12
IGCSE and GCSE reward reaching the answer. A-Level assumes that rearranging, factorising, fractions and indices happen without thought, so the real question gets the attention.
The first term of Year 12 is where most students who later struggle begin to slip, usually on algebraic fluency rather than on any single topic.
Method, accuracy and independent marks are awarded along the way. Working done in the head, however correct, leaves most of them on the table.
Inside a class
Less lecturing, more questions worked through while the teacher watches each line form.
The useful moment is the line where the reasoning slips. A finished answer hides it; a shared page shows it.
Why teacher and student write on the same worksheetThe teacher has already reviewed what was submitted, so the lesson begins with the question that went wrong rather than a search for it.
Both write on the same live worksheet. A slip in rearranging an equation is visible straight away, not three lines later.
For exam questions we look at what earns M, A and B marks, and which steps a student skipped that the marker needed to see.
For International A-Level that means the next unit date. For UK A-Level and 9709, the final papers, with Year 12 content revisited on purpose.

International A-Level students sit units in January, June or October. We build the term backwards from whichever series your child is entered for.
Year 12 material returns in P3, P4 and the final papers. The same teacher across both years remembers what was shaky the first time round.
Past papers from your child's own system and board, in the real format and timing, rather than whichever set ranks first in a search.
India is 1 hour 30 minutes ahead of the UAE and neither changes its clocks, so an 18:00 Dubai class stays at 18:00 from September to June.

We treat any information about your child with extra care. We only collect what we need to teach them well, such as their grade and what they're working on. We never use a child's photo, name, or work in any marketing without the parent's explicit written permission.
You can ask us to show you what we have on file, correct anything inaccurate, or delete your data entirely, at any time. Just email hello@theclassarc.com and we'll handle it within a few days.

ClassArc is a one-on-one online tutoring service. We provide live, scheduled classes between a teacher and a student, along with homework, feedback, and study support.
Each class is 55 minutes. You can reschedule or cancel a class up to 5 minutes before it starts. If you miss a class without notice, we usually credit it back to your balance and reschedule based on what works for the teacher and student.
The first demo class is free, no card required. After that, plans are billed in advance for the number of classes you choose (8, 24, or ~48). We'll send you a payment link directly once you've picked a plan.
If you want to stop classes at any point, we refund whatever class balance is left on your plan. No questions asked, no friction. Refunds are processed within 7 business days.
We expect students and parents to treat teachers with respect, and teachers to do the same. We reserve the right to end the relationship if classes become unsafe, abusive, or disruptive, with a full refund of any unused balance.
