What is ClassArc?
ClassArc is live one-to-one online maths tutoring for school-age children. One teacher and one child, for 55 minutes. The same teacher every week. Classes run inside our own classroom software, not a video call: a shared worksheet you both write on, a shared whiteboard, and answers that sync live.
The short answer
Qatar has a large private and international school sector, and British-curriculum schools are a substantial part of it alongside Indian, American and IB ones. The British Council's market brief reports that in 2020–21 around 64% of primary students in Qatar were enrolled at private institutions, on figures from the Planning and Statistics Authority.
For maths that matters in a specific way. A child at a British school in Doha follows the English National Curriculum through primary and key stage 3 — the same programmes of study, the same year groups, the same content our UK year guides are written from. Then, at 14, the path diverges from the UK one.
Most British schools here enter students for International GCSE or Cambridge IGCSE rather than the UK's domestic 9–1 GCSE, and then for International A Level or Cambridge International AS & A Level. It is a tendency rather than a rule — Doha College, for one, publishes both GCSE and IGCSE at key stage 4 — and the specifications, papers and exam series genuinely differ between them. Which is exactly why we ask for the specification code before the first class rather than after it.
British Council Qatar, which runs school exams locally, says it works with three main boards: Cambridge Assessment International Education, OxfordAQA and Pearson Edexcel. OxfordAQA is a joint venture between Oxford University Press and AQA, and its specifications are not the same as UK AQA's. Schools sometimes act as their own exam centres, so treat that as the common set rather than the complete one.

The path
The first nine years match England. The last four do not, and that is where families most often end up with the wrong revision material.

Two practical differences worth knowing. Pearson's International GCSE dropped its January series after January 2023 and now runs June and November; International A Level still has a January series. And Qatar is not on Pearson's list of countries that sit alternative regional "R" papers — Oman and the UAE are, Qatar is not — so Qatari candidates sit the standard International GCSE papers.
Why families here choose us

Qatar is UTC+3, our teachers are in India at UTC+5:30, and neither country changes its clocks. Book 17:00 in Doha and it stays 17:00 in Doha — no twice-yearly reshuffle.
School runs Sunday to Thursday here, so homework nights are Saturday through Wednesday. Sunday is a school night and we staff it as one.
International GCSE and International A Level, not their UK cousins. We ask for the specification code before the first class, because the papers genuinely differ.
British curriculum schools in Qatar teach in English. Nothing about the class needs translating, and the vocabulary matches what the teacher used that morning.
One person who knows what your child could do last term. That matters more when the family may move country before the exams do.

The primary and key stage 3 guides are the English National Curriculum, which is exactly what a British school in Qatar teaches. From 14, follow the international routes instead.
Years 1 to 6: place value, times tables, fractions and the written methods everything later depends on.

When you book a demo or sign up for classes, we collect your name, your child's name, email, WhatsApp number, time zone, and the grade you're inquiring about. That's it. We don't ask for or store any payment details on this website. We don't use trackers, cookies for advertising, or third-party analytics that profile you.
Only to schedule and run your classes, send you class reminders, share homework and progress, and answer your questions. We'll reach out by email or WhatsApp, depending on what you tell us works better for you.
Your teacher, and the small team supporting them at ClassArc. We never sell, rent, or share your information with anyone outside ClassArc. We use Formspree to receive form submissions, and standard email and WhatsApp for messaging, nothing else.
We treat any information about your child with extra care. We only collect what we need to teach them well, such as their grade and what they're working on. We never use a child's photo, name, or work in any marketing without the parent's explicit written permission.

ClassArc is a one-on-one online tutoring service. We provide live, scheduled classes between a teacher and a student, along with homework, feedback, and study support.
Each class is 55 minutes. You can reschedule or cancel a class up to 5 minutes before it starts. If you miss a class without notice, we usually credit it back to your balance and reschedule based on what works for the teacher and student.
The first demo class is free, no card required. After that, plans are billed in advance for the number of classes you choose (8, 24, or ~48). We'll send you a payment link directly once you've picked a plan.
If you want to stop classes at any point, we refund whatever class balance is left on your plan. No questions asked, no friction. Refunds are processed within 7 business days.
We expect students and parents to treat teachers with respect, and teachers to do the same. We reserve the right to end the relationship if classes become unsafe, abusive, or disruptive, with a full refund of any unused balance.
