What QR 45 a class
actually buys

Nothing here is a Qatar-only concession or a Qatar-only exclusion. It is what a ClassArc class is, on any plan.

Lesson format
Live, one-to-one
One teacher, one student, live. Not a small group, and not a recording with someone watching.
Lesson length
A full 55 minutes
Fifty-five minutes of teaching. An hour is not billed and then quietly taught as forty minutes.
Your teacher
The same one each week
Assigned once, not drawn from a pool each week. If the pairing does not work we change the person rather than the format.
Curriculum
Whichever yours is
The English National Curriculum through primary and key stage 3, then International GCSE or Cambridge IGCSE, then International A Level. We ask for the specification code before the first class.
Scheduling
Qatar time, Qatar week
Lessons Saturday to Wednesday evenings, anchored to Doha time so the slot does not move when UK clocks change.
For you
A termly parent meeting
A proper conversation once a term, not a monthly automated score. Class reminders reach you on WhatsApp the day before and an hour before, timed to Doha.

Figures above are per class, in riyals. If you would rather see the same plans in the billing currency, the pounds page has them.

What tutoring normally
costs in Qatar

Qatar Living's guide to after-school tutoring puts private one-to-one tuition in Qatar at roughly QR 100 to QR 250 an hour, with specialist exam-board subjects and experienced teachers at the higher end.

ClassArc starts at QR 45 a class on the Committed plan and QR 55 on Starter for ages 5 to 13. Ages 14 to 18, covering International GCSE and A Level, run from QR 60.

We should be straight about that figure's provenance. It is a published range from a local listings guide, not an official statistic, and Qatar Living carries paid tutoring listings. It is the best-known published range we could find for Qatar, and we quote it so you can do the sums yourself rather than take our characterisation of them.

One imperfect published range, named and linked, beats a confident number we made up.

Why the source is on the page

Why it costs what it costs,
said plainly

The reason a full 55-minute one-to-one class can be QR 45 is not a shortcut in the lesson. It is that ClassArc's teachers live and work in India, where a good teacher's salary costs a great deal less than it does in Doha.

That is the whole explanation. We are not running larger classes and calling them one-to-one, not cutting the hour short, and not paying our own people badly to undercut anyone.

What you get for it is the same everywhere we teach: fifty-five minutes, one teacher who stays with your child, homework set and marked, and lessons taught from the specification your child's school actually entered them for.

Anyone can be cheap by taking something out of the lesson. We would rather tell you where the money actually goes.

A good fit if you
are looking for

A slot that suits a Qatari week

Saturday to Wednesday evenings, in the late afternoon when school has just finished — not a tutor squeezing you in after their own day.

The right specification

International GCSE, Cambridge IGCSE or UK GCSE — Qatari British schools do not all do the same thing. We ask for the code before the first class.

One teacher who stays

Expat families move, and schools change. One teacher who has watched your child work is the part that does not have to restart.

A price you can hold to a budget

Per class, with no joining fee and nothing added for materials. Billing is in pounds, so see the currency question below for how that lands on your statement.

How the free first class works

A real lesson, not a consultation. No card, and no obligation afterwards.

How much is a maths tutor in Qatar?
Local published guides put private one-to-one tuition at around QR 100 to QR 250 an hour, higher for specialist exam-board work — see the section above for the source and its limits. ClassArc starts at QR 45 per 55-minute class on our largest plan for ages 5 to 13, and QR 60 for ages 14 to 18.
What currency will I actually be charged in?
Prices here are in Qatari riyals so you can budget in the currency you think in. Billing is in pounds, and your bank applies its own rate, so the exact riyal amount leaving your account may differ a little from the figure shown.
Is there a joining fee or a materials fee?
Neither. The per-class price is the whole cost — nothing is added for registration, and homework is set and marked as part of the class rather than sold as materials. If you stop, whatever classes you have not used are refunded.
Why are ages 14 to 18 more expensive?
International GCSE and A Level teaching needs a teacher who knows a specific specification, its past papers and its mark schemes, and that is a smaller pool of people. The senior band covers ages 14 to 18 and includes past-paper work and exam technique rather than charging for them as an add-on.
Do you charge more for weekend lessons?
No — there is no premium on any slot. Worth knowing though: the weekend here is Friday and Saturday, and we do teach Saturday evenings, because Sunday is a school day and Saturday night is the Qatari equivalent of a UK Sunday. Thursday and Friday evenings we leave alone.
Can we pay for one term at a time?
Yes. Plans are blocks of classes rather than a rolling subscription, so you buy a number of classes and use them at your own pace. The larger the block, the lower the per-class price.
Will the price change?
We review prices on a schedule rather than moving them with the exchange rate. If a review changes what you pay, we tell you before it takes effect rather than after.
What if the first class does not go well?
Then you have lost 55 minutes and nothing else — no card is taken to book it. If the teaching was fine but the pairing was not, say so and we will try a different teacher rather than assume you are gone.
