The CBSE maths board paper in Class 10 and Class 12 is a 3-hour, 80-mark written exam with no calculator, alongside 20 marks of internal assessment from the school. This guide covers the paper pattern, the units that carry the most marks and a revision plan that runs through the whole session.
What is ClassArc?

The short answer
Both the Class 10 and the Class 12 maths boards are written papers of 80 marks and 3 hours, and calculators are not allowed. The remaining 20 marks come from internal assessment during the year.
A growing share of marks goes to applying and analysing rather than recalling, so familiar NCERT maths now often appears inside an unfamiliar setting. Because marking schemes award marks for method, a clear, complete solution with one slip keeps most of its marks, while a bare answer can lose them.
Paper pattern
This is the structure of CBSE's 2025–26 sample paper for Class 10 Mathematics Standard. All questions are compulsory, with internal choice in some.

Source: CBSE Mathematics curriculum 2026–27 for Class X and Classes XI–XII. In practice, an applying question might hide a quadratic equation inside a story about a garden's dimensions, which is why textbook-only practice falls short.
Internal marks
Class 10 chapters
Unit marks are from the 2026–27 Class 10 curriculum. The points list what to be completely secure on in each.
Class 12 chapters
Calculus deserves the largest share of revision time. Unit marks are from the 2026–27 Class 12 curriculum.
Class 9 and Class 11 have no board exam but build the foundations: the new Class 9 NCERT book introduces some topics earlier, and Class 11 limits, functions and trigonometry run through every Class 12 calculus chapter.

Each class is 55 minutes. You can reschedule or cancel a class up to 5 minutes before it starts. If you miss a class without notice, we usually credit it back to your balance and reschedule based on what works for the teacher and student.
The first demo class is free, no card required. After that, plans are billed in advance for the number of classes you choose (8, 24, or ~48). We'll send you a payment link directly once you've picked a plan.
If you want to stop classes at any point, we refund whatever class balance is left on your plan. No questions asked, no friction. Refunds are processed within 7 business days.
We expect students and parents to treat teachers with respect, and teachers to do the same. We reserve the right to end the relationship if classes become unsafe, abusive, or disruptive, with a full refund of any unused balance.
